The leader of the Ukrainian e-commerce market, despite significant losses at the beginning of the full-scale war, not only restored, but also increased the number of offline points.
Recently, Rozetka opened its first own delivery point in Nizhyn, Chernihiv region. As it was informed by the press service of the consulting company Retail&Development Advisor (RDA), which acted as a broker during the signing of the premises lease agreement, it started work in the Nizhyn City shopping center on the street. Batyuka, 9.
The area of the retail outlet was almost 60 square meters, which was occupied by the online ordering area, the fitting and alcohol department with a wide range of drinks and Rozetka's own imported goods. As in all Rozetka delivery points, convenient services are available here that are already familiar to customers: the ability to view and check the order before payment, return the product that did not fit, try on clothes and shoes in the fitting room, etc. At the same time, all orders are delivered to the delivery point free of charge.
According to Andrii Lototskyi, CEO of Retail&Development Advisor, this is the fourth retail outlet of the Rozetka chain, which the online retailer opened through RDA. Before that, the company found three locations for Rozetka in Kyiv: in the Minsk massif (in the Ministersky residential complex, at Kondratyuka St., 5), in Pechersk (Druzhby Narodiv Blvd., 16 A) and in Troyeshchyna (Zakrevskogo St., 93 A).
"As a market leader, Rozetka always sets high requirements for the premises and location of future stores. Among them are the first floor, a good storefront and high-quality traffic. In the case of the first store in Nizhyn, all these requirements were met. In fact, we managed to sign almost the only location in the city center with a good facade and a separate entrance. And an additional advantage was the presence of a food "anchor" nearby, which can improve the efficiency of the new pickup point due to the synergistic effect," explains Andriy Lototskyi.
Rozetka recalled that the company was actively developing a network of distribution points even before the start of a full-scale war. In particular, 168 distribution points were opened in 2021. On the eve of the invasion, the Rozetka offline network had 246 objects of various formats. Due to active hostilities in many regions of Ukraine, at the end of the first quarter of 2022, the number of operating stores of the online retailer decreased by almost four times - to 65 facilities in 32 cities. However, last year the company not only fully restored the network, but also increased it to 47 new points.
The company continues its dynamic development in the offline direction this year as well. As of May 9, 2023, Rozetka already had 325 distribution points in 84 cities of Ukraine. At the same time, there are plans to open 200 new stores this year. As the company notes, the priority for development is the Western and Central Regions of the country.
"But this does not mean that we do not have plans to open in other regions of Ukraine. Even in the frontline cities, we launch mobile delivery points so that their residents can get the opportunity to order any goods from our website. We also plan to strengthen our presence in all regional centers and their satellite cities," Rozetka clarified.
In turn, RDA notes that the company continues its search for premises for the largest Ukrainian player in the online trade segment and is ready to consider all offers that meet the retailer's requirements.
