Shopping and Entertainment Center Mayak A1 Opens in Odesa (+photos)

The new Odesa shopping and entertainment center Mayak A1 opened at the end of August at 107/1 Polkovnyk Huliaiev Avenue. The total area of the mall is 13,000 sq. m, with 10,000 sq. m of retail space.

According to the press service of consulting company Retail & Development Advisor (RDA), which acts as the mall’s broker, at the time of opening the occupancy rate of the facility was about 80%.

In particular, brands such as Varus, Comfy, KFC, Chudo Ostriv, Bosch&Siemens, Luxoptica, E-zoo, Stolychna Jewelry Factory, Pinky, Duna, Biotus, Tabakerka, InTime, TekhnoYizhak, Sisters Aroma, Tabakevych, Vapers, Top Case, Andi, and a coffee shop, among others, have already opened here.

“Soon, stores such as Jysk, Sinsay, Look, Roshen, Farmacia, Parfuland, and Vina Svitу will open in the mall. In the next 2–3 months, we also plan to bring in operators in the food and entertainment categories, as well as retailers from the fashion segment and some other categories, which will make the tenant mix even more diverse and significantly enhance the pool of tenants,” said RDA CEO Andrii Lototskyi.

According to him, the mall is located in a favorable area — a densely populated district near new residential complexes, with convenient transport and pedestrian accessibility. Overall, the catchment area covers about 100,000 people, who can provide stable visitor traffic to the mall.

The management company of Mayak A1 reported that over 25,000 people visited the mall on its opening day. At the same time, the company forecasts that once all tenants are launched, the facility’s daily footfall will reach about 9,000.

“As part of the project, we created not just a commercial building, but also a historical and cultural space connected with Odesa. In particular, we built a real 12-meter lighthouse that lights up at night, and also recreated on the mall’s columns the images of seven other lighthouses located in Odesa’s twin cities around the world — Larnaca, Piraeus, Istanbul, Vancouver, Klaipėda, Gdańsk, and Cyprus. In addition, the mall has been decorated in a maritime style, and we installed a 1.5-meter figure of an Odesa seagull — a new art symbol of our city, which we hope will become a favorite among children,” commented Ihor Pokhalchuk, a representative of the mall’s management company.
